In 2024, the top decile score was 2920. This was the 9th decile, and the average section score works out as 730 and Band 1. The top 10% score varies from year to year when all the students are ranked against each other, creating decile tables. If you achieve a top 10% score, you are almost certain to receive 4 interview offers, and you can apply to any university. When we break down the scores further, it shows as
700 in Verbal Reasoning, 740 in Decision Making section, 770 in Quantitative Reasoning.
(Abstract Reasoning was 810 however, we can ignore this as this section has now been removed.)
A top 10% score can be achieved by early preparation and using a UCAT tutor to initially teach you and then guide you throughout. An important feature of students who attain a top 10% score is that they are always ahead of their A Level content, and this allows them to focus more time on their UCAT exam. Other attributes of these students are having their Statement all ready in the summer, having done their work experience, carrying out the volunteering and making time for their hobbies. Finally, they also start on their interview communication skills very early on. It is all about being proactive.
